Waiting On: Unraveling Isobel

Unraveling Isobel by Eileen Cook
To be published: January 3, 2012
Isobel’s life is falling apart. Her mom just married some guy she met on the internet only three months before, and is moving them to his sprawling, gothic mansion off the coast of nowhere. Goodbye, best friend. Goodbye, social life. Hello, icky new stepfather, crunchy granola town, and unbelievably good-looking, officially off-limits stepbrother.

But on her first night in her new home, Isobel starts to fear that it isn’t only her life that’s unraveling—her sanity might be giving way too. Because either Isobel is losing her mind, just like her artist father did before her, or she’s seeing ghosts.

Either way, Isobel’s fast on her way to being the talk of the town for all the wrong reasons. {goodreads.com}

I'm loving that cover, especially since it's purple (my favorite color).  I'm also loving the synopsis about a conflicted girl starting over in a new place.  I've lived in the same city my whole life, surrounded by the same people, so reading a story about a young girl having to start over some where new always intrigues me.  The unbelievably good-looking stepbrother intrigues me, too.  How awkward! haha

"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

  1. We have the same favorite color! I did not know this before :] I'm really looking forward to this one too. I love that it leaves you wondering whether it really is paranormal or not.

  2. This book looks like a mix of contemporary and paranormal. I love it when the two genres blend together. It usually makes for a touching, yet slightly thrilling, or in this case, creepy read. The cover lured me in somehow, I don't know what it is about it, It just looks uniquely interesting.

  3. I've heard this one is super creepy!  That it shouldn't be read at bed time and only in daylight hours. LOL
