  2. Summer for me is at the Jersey Shore but growing up here I don't go "down the shore", I go "to the beach!" Lazy warm days, relaxing in shady yards with a good book in hand, letting the drone of dragonflies provide a soothing backdrop to my pleasure reading.

  3. I'm so excited for all these summer reads!

  4. In Cleveland we have great beaches on Lake Erie and I loved going to them growing up! I still continue to go to the beaches today! Another fun thing in Cleveland during the summer are all the festivals and great restaurant patios! Emmy & Oliver is on my summer to read list and I would be so excited to win it! I am also looking forward to P.S. I Still Love You By Jenny Han!

  5. I live in Kansas so it is both really hot and really humid. Usually June is pretty nice, but in July it gets up to 110 (I've seen 114!) and we all kind of want to die. I am more of a Fall/Winter person, so it's kind of a rough time. Thank goodness for swimming pools!

I'm really looking forward to The Boy Most Likely To. I really enjoyed My Life Next Door, so I can't wait to get my hands on the sequel!

  6. I've been looking for summer reads for a month. Can't wait to hear about everyone's picks!

  7. I live in Indonesian where the season is divided into two seasons, Rainy and Dry season. Maybe Dry season is the perfect match compare to Summer in the US. Whilst it will be sunny everyday (or one day or two there will be rain fall), I plan to read some of local books and couple of YA that I am waiting for to be released, on of them is PS I Still Love You by Jenny Han.

I'm really looking forward to The Boy Most Likely To, too. Enjoy your summer, Ginger.

  8. Currently I'm living up north where the the summers are a lot more mild than what I'm used to. I do enjoy the cooler weather, which allows me to stay outside longer. I love taking walks outside and running in the morning without worrying about collapsing from the heat. I plan to read Jenny Han's new book!

  9. In Seattle not many people have air conditioning because there are only a couple of days where the temperature is over 90 degrees. It makes for summers where you can hang out outside and not be overheated.

  10. Living in a tropical country, the weather just becomes even hotter during the summertime. However, what's fun is that it's the perfect time to go to different beaches - which we have a lot of here in the Philippines. :)

  11. Summers in New York are always hot but awesome. Some people have beaches and time to relax. I have a farm to take care of, squeezing in time to read, blog, and eating frozen yogurt. Yes, here comes the summer! Happy reading!

P.S. I'm definitely looking forward to HELLO, I LOVE YOU by Katie Stout. It's gotten negative reviews so far but since I just got back from Korea myself, I want to see what this book is all about.

    Thank you for the giveaway!

  12. Summers in England are pretty hit and miss, it is a long running joke for us brits that we get about 2 weeks of summer so when it gets warm we make the most of it. I don't tend to though, simply because my pale skin will burn. I live in the Midlands (literally the middle of England) so I'm not near the ocean, you tend to notice a sort of mass exodus in late July and early August whilst people migrate to beaches. I'm unique in that I tend to avoid such things because I hate being in crowds. My summers are normally spent in the garden reading books. I'll definitely be picking up Between the Notes and The Devil You Know and I've got a few books like I'll Give You The Sun to read on my shelf as well.

  13. There is really not that much going on here in the South during the summer, other than trying really hard to stay cool. In lakes, rivers.. heck, even ponds if it gets that bad. And I am talking about koi ponds! It really is hot! And as far as books? ALL OF THEM! As many as my greedy little bookish eyes can devour! Thank you so much for the awesome giveaway!

  14. I will just read whichever books are on my pile. I tend not to read seasonally.

Summer here means THE best fresh fruit & of course Christmas. You have to experience a HOT Christmas to believe it.

  15. I used to live in the SF Bay Area, where summers are mild and temperatures rarely climb above the mid-80's. Now I live in Florida, where it is hella hot and hella rainy (I still talk like a NorCal girl). Sometimes, it is hella hurricane-y (wow, that was really cheesy).
I anticipate lots of beachy contemporaries and road trip books (LOVE Huntley Fitzpatrick and Emery Lord), preferably while lounging on the beach... but that may not happen because, as I said, it is hella rainy.

  16. YESSSS!! I'm SO excited for this, G!

  17. In NJ we have the PNC Bank Arts Center which is an open venue for concerts. Such a great place to see a show especially if it's one those awesome summer nights. And so many artists visit this venue which makes for great nights! I have too many books on my list for this summer!

  18. So many awesome books there!! I love beach reads. Summer in CT is hot and usually rather humid... So unless we're near water (pool or beach) we tend to stay in the air conditioning indoors. I'm more of a fan of Full. It's simply gorgeous here in New England. <3

  19. I love getting outdoors to read at this time of year, most of the other months it's rainy and just plain gloomy here, so it's a joy to get out in the sunshine. As for what I plan to read, I've had The Interestings by Meg Wolitzer sitting around for a while, so that's high on my list, other than that, hopefully some good romantic contemporaries. Thanks for the giveaway!

  20. I'm in Scotland so our summers are always cold! But we all act like it's warm anyway haha
I'm planning on reading Illuminae and Every Last Word :-)

  21. I always try to hit Ocean City, Maryland every summer whenever I can. That's the beach that I have gone since I was a little girl and it has kind of been a tradition! Also, I plan to read P.S. I Still Love You. I haven't gotten to reading it yet, but I will soon. Thank you for this amazing chance! :)

  23. Gosh, there is nothing enticing about the rainy summers of England... However they do give me plenty of time to curl up with a book and (hopefully) get through my enormous TBR pile - which keeps on growing!

  24. summer where I live at means going to the beach alot and having to wear a lot of sunscreen

  25. Summer books are my favorite books! I love a good contemporary romance (YA or adult) that takes place in the summer months, especially if there is water or a road trip involved. I enjoy spending my summers reading these types of books. I just discovered your blog last night and I love it!

  26. I live in California so there is not really a whole lot that changes during the summer. Although the public pools open which is great because I love swimming!

    ReplyDelete
  27. I could actually wear a sweater while it was still light outside. It's June. This is why I love summer in England!

    ReplyDelete
  28. I plan on reading on whims this summer! I've been struggling with reading this year and I just plan on reading whatever sounds good at the time :P I expect a lot of contemporary will play in to that though! There isn't too much special that goes on in the summers where I live (outside of Toronto, Ontario). I'm not from here though so maybe I'm missing something! There are a lot of festivals that happen (Jazz, music) though! Thanks for the giveaway! I'm really looking forward to reading all the posts :)

  29. Honestly, summer is my least favourite season, I can't tolerate the heat. But there is this amusement park that always opens during the summer. I know it's open when I hear the people's signature screams.

I plan on reading as many books on my TBR list now that I don't have school to worry about. I hope to finally get the chance to read The Fault in Our Stars.

  30. I live in Australia so honestly it can get really really hot and I don't feel like doing anything at all until the sun finally sets (which can be pretty late too) but I do love being on summer break and having heaps of time off to do whatever I feel like. As for reading, I'm just really looking forward to cute contemporary novels - especially some Jenny Han! :)

  32. Summer is pretty nice in PA, and I read a lot before I sleep. This summer, I've read a few books by Jenny Han, and I finished the Slated series by Teri Terry. I also plan on reading Susan Ee's End of Days trilogy!

  33. Summer in Jersey usually means going down the shore, but for me it means taking road trips almost every weekend. So that means train rides + bus rides = reading!

This summer I've been so busy that I haven't read as much as I usually would, but I did read a few good books. One book I plan on reading the same day it releases this summer is Until Friday Night by Abbi Glines!

  34. It's always summer in Hawaii. Sometimes my family goes "camping" at one of the beach parks. I use quotation marks because we sleep on air mattresses, use propane to make a hot water shower and use a generator for the rice cooker and karaoke system at night. -- I waited ALL SUMMER for The Boy Most Likely To and when I finally got my hands on it (a week later thanks to Amazon), devoured it in no time. I already liked Tim, but this made me like him even more. Jase is still my favorite and now I'm really curious about Joel. I would love a steamy, non-ya book about him!
