My Top Ten Books of 2014 I've Read So Far

Before 2014 began, I remember thinking this was going to be a spectacular year for YA contemporaries.  What I didn't expect was to be blown away by so many debut authors.  Below is my list of 5 star novels that I have read in 2014.  Each one completely stole my heart while I was reading it, and to this day still lingers in my head.

Have you read any of these?  I hope my high regards for them entice a few readers to either pick up a copy, or move them up your TBR pile.  Be sure to check out The Broke and the Bookish for more details on this awesome weekly feature.

*An honorable mention goes to SIDE EFFECTS MAY VARY by Julie Murphy and NOGGIN by John Corey Whaley.  Even though I read these books last year, they were pub'ed in 2014 and deserve to be mentioned as favorites.  Both of these books are extraordinary, written by two very beautiful people.  Favorites for sure!

  1. Ooh The Devil You Know! Can't wait to read that one and I'm encouraged to see it on your favorites list. Breakfast Served Anytime sounds like a book I'd like too. Looks like you've had a fabulous reading year so far!

  2. So jealous of the Trish Doller read. I kind of can't focus on anything else on the list now that I noticed that. HA

I swear every list has the Matson and Lord books on them. So well deserved.

  7. I'm so jealous of the fact that you've read The Devil You Know! I can't wait to hear more about it and also your thoughts.
From your list I've only read What I Thought Was True (loved!) and Open Road Summer (disappointed, unfortunately), but I'm really looking forward to Since You've Been Gone. :)

  9. I think I tweeted this to you yesterday when I first saw your list, but I think we have VERY similar tastes in books! How to Love, Open Road Summer, Since You've Been Gone, What I Thought Was True, To All the Boys I've Loved Before... all favorites of mine! And I gasped out loud when I saw that you have read Trish Doller's new book. I am SO happy to see that it appears on this list because it's one of my most anticipated releases right now :) Oh, and you just convinced me to buy Breakfast Served Anytime. It's been on my radar for a while, so seeing it on your list sealed it for me!
