Friendship is a very dominant story element in YA books. It can be portrayed as something good, or as something being tested. Regardless, the scope of friendship is wide. I chose ten books below that tackle variations of friendship. Let me know in the comments if you've read any of them and what you thought.
I'm so glad you chose Jellicoe Road, too! I love the line: "Silently I vow to keep Raffy around for the rest of my life." The fact that there are two group of friends in the book - both written so beautifully - just goes to show how talented MM really is.

Great choices. I am so happy to see so many books on my current TBR list have made your list. I love books that have great friendships in them, so I am definitely excited to get to these now. Top of my list is Open Road Summer, can't wait for that one. Nice list :) Here's my TTT.
I ADORE the friendship between Callie and Kat in WTSSS...not only are they bound by family but you can tell they really do care for each other on such a deep level. I love how Kat helps to bring Callie out of her shell and takes her under her wing in a way.
So many great friendships in Fangirl....Cath and Wren, Cath and Reagan...CATH AND LEVI!! Swoooon! Each relationship brought something different to Cath's life and I really appreciated the fact that each relationship was explored. I absolutely LOVED this book!
And of course....Open Road Summer! Where do I begin?! Dee and Reagan have such an authentic friendship which makes it so evident that Emery Lord also has some pretty special friends in her life. For her to be able to write about the power of female friendship so truthfully is a real testament to who she is as a person and the type of friend she is! GO EMERY!
I would be remiss to not mention what a great friend YOU are! Thanks for being so wonderfully supportive and for giving me the confidence to take a chance!! Maybe someday you'll actually make that New England vacation. Consider me your own personal tour guide! xoxo
