Another Dose of GReads! Interrupted.

Sometimes I want to share things with my followers that aren't necessarily a book review, so I thought I'd create a sporadic feature on my blog to do just that.  GReads! Interrupted. is a personal reflection of me -- music I'm listening to, something I recently purchased & want to show off, or even just a random thought that I feel is worthy of sharing.  This is meant to be a fun break from the usual reviews + a chance for my followers to get to know me a bit more.  Hope you enjoy!

I've been a fan of The Killers for awhile. They're a band that I feel came a few decades late with their 80s sound (but better late than never right?) and I think that's one of the reasons I like them so much.  Direct Hits comes out in November, featuring their "greatest hits" from 2003-2013. They've got a new single from that album that I want you to listen to. Check it out below & if you like, download it here.

What music have you been listening to lately? Let me know what you think of this song.

Over the summer I had a thing for wearing dresses, so as the months are starting to get cooler I wanted to find a new dress I could wear into the Fall season.  I discovered this cute get-up at my Old Navy (& it was on sale too!).  I added the red belt from my own collection & paired it with some red ballet flats. Cute yeah?

I'm thinking when it gets even cooler out I could wear my knee high boots with it, or pair some leggings underneath. I love finding versatile pieces that work with my wardrobe & I am ALWAYS looking for comfort (it's why I opted for ballet flats & not heels, though heels would look way cuter).

What are some of your favorite Fall fashion ideas?

I always forget how beautiful the weather can be here in Texas when it's not scorching hot outside.

Recently I visited a new park (well new to me) in my neighborhood.  They had a great playground area for the nephews, a dog park for Daisy, and even a pond to walk around & bring the fishing poles to some time.  Needless to say I definitely want to venture back.

Have any favorite outside places you visit in your hometown? Tell me about them!

  1. Super cute dress! I have this striped (though mine are vertical) that I love pairing with a red belt and red ballet flats. It's such a nice combo. My dress is sleeveless though so I'm going to pair it with a blazer I have for the Fall.

Killers are always a solid choice!

Also, should I be watching Reign?? I'm so curious about it!!

  2. Love the dress! I live in dresses during the summer, so transitioning back to pants/boots is tough in the fall -- but I just started pairing leggings with my favorite darker dresses and adding boots instead of flats.

I haven't been venturing outside much lately, but my mom and I did make a pilgrimage to a beautiful local park here in Maryland to admire the fall foliage! I snapped a few (well, a few dozen!) pictures that I really need to edit . . .

  5. It was in the 80s here two weeks ago, so I got to bust out my shorts and tanktops again. Now it's in the 50s and I'm miserable. I'm glad the grunge look is coming back so I don't look like the only weirdo stuck in 1991 since my fall/winter staples are leggings, a flannel, jean jacket/hoodie/parka (depending on how cold it is), and boots (usually).
