Waiting On: The Lucy Variations

The Lucy Variations by Sara Zarr
To be published: 2013 (eep! so far away!) by Little, Brown BFYR
A once-promising concert pianist now believes that at 16 her best years are behind her — a belief that everyone she knows seems to agree with, until she meets her brother's attractive new piano instructor. [goodreads]

I am well aware that this book's description is teeny-tiny and the pub date is not even set yet, but it's Sara Zarr and after reading her previous book Sweethearts, I will read anything by this woman.  I have another one of her's in my to-be-read pile that is just itching to be read (How to Save a Life).  I think she is just fabulous and this novel will more than likely blow me away, as well.

"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

  1. I don't care that the description is tiny -- WE WILL BE READING THIS.

  2. I didn't know she was writing a new book! There aren't enough YA books about pianists in my opinion. :) Nice pick.

  3. It's about a PIANIST. SOLD. I love books that write about pianists, and this sounds lovely.

  4. I STILL need to read a Sarah Zarr book. I have How to Save a Life that has been sitting on my shelves for far too long... perhaps a joint reading project? :)

  6. Yes, yes, yes!!!! I'm a piano player, so it's awesome to find good piano-based books. This one sounds AWESOME! I'll have to add it to my list. :)

    Great pick!

  7. I haven't heard of this one. I'm still newish to the contemps but I'm liking them a lot. I haven't read anything by this author but Tara @Hobbitsies sent me Sweethearts in the mail with a sticky note on it that says "SOB" and told me to read it. So I will as soon as I can.
