The Lucy Variations by Sara Zarr
To be published: 2013 (eep! so far away!) by Little, Brown BFYR
A once-promising concert pianist now believes that at 16 her best years are behind her — a belief that everyone she knows seems to agree with, until she meets her brother's attractive new piano instructor. [goodreads]
I am well aware that this book's description is teeny-tiny and the pub date is not even set yet, but it's Sara Zarr and after reading her previous book Sweethearts, I will read anything by this woman. I have another one of her's in my to-be-read pile that is just itching to be read (How to Save a Life). I think she is just fabulous and this novel will more than likely blow me away, as well.
"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

Excellent pick! I’ll definitely be adding this to my ever growing TBR pile and so checking it out as soon as it's released – thank you for sharing! :)

I don't care that the description is tiny -- WE WILL BE READING THIS.
ReplyDeleteI didn't know she was writing a new book! There aren't enough YA books about pianists in my opinion. :) Nice pick.
ReplyDeleteMy WoW
It's about a PIANIST. SOLD. I love books that write about pianists, and this sounds lovely.
ReplyDeleteI STILL need to read a Sarah Zarr book. I have How to Save a Life that has been sitting on my shelves for far too long... perhaps a joint reading project? :)
ReplyDeleteGreat pick. I had this as my WoW last week. There isn't much to the summary, but I still can't wait to read it!
ReplyDeleteWaiting For Wentworth
Yes, yes, yes!!!! I'm a piano player, so it's awesome to find good piano-based books. This one sounds AWESOME! I'll have to add it to my list. :)
ReplyDeleteGreat pick!
I haven't heard of this one. I'm still newish to the contemps but I'm liking them a lot. I haven't read anything by this author but Tara @Hobbitsies sent me Sweethearts in the mail with a sticky note on it that says "SOB" and told me to read it. So I will as soon as I can.
