Waiting On: A Midsummer's Nightmare

A Midsummer's Nightmare by Kody Keplinger
To be published: June 5, 2012 by Poppy
A Midsummer's Nightmare
Whitley Johnson's dream summer with her divorced dad has turned into a nightmare. She's just met his new fiancée and her kids. The fiancée's son? Whitley's one-night stand from graduation night. Just freakin' great. Worse, she totally doesn't fit in with her dad's perfect new country-club family.

So Whitley acts out. She parties. Hard. So hard she doesn't even notice the good things right under her nose: a sweet little future stepsister who is just about the only person she's ever liked, a best friend (even though Whitley swears she doesn't "do" friends), and a smoking-hot guy who isn't her stepbrother...at least, not yet. It will take all three of them to help Whitley get through her anger and begin to put the pieces of her family together. {goodreads.com}

Ever since I read The DUFF two years ago, I have been a fan of Kody Keplinger.  I'm always interested in what she writes because she isn't afraid to take taboo topics and give them a voice.  This topic definitely sounds like one hell-ish nightmare!!!  I am more than curious to see how this story plays out.

P.S. I'm also anticipating some swoony scenes - Kody knows how to bring the heat to the pages!

"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

  1. Oh my God yes! I cannot WAIT for A Midsummer's Nightmare. It's one of those books I'll be dropping everything to read because I love Kody's writing so much. I can't believe it releases next month. I'm horrible at remembering release dates. Now I have something to look forward to. Thanks! :)

  4. Reading this right now! It's quite good. My problem is that I am SO CURIOUS to know how the story ends - do the boy and girl officially get together? - that I'm having trouble not skipping to the end. (NOTE: I *never* do that!)
