In My Mailbox {69}: TXLA Edition

Me & Magan from Rather Be Reading

This past week Houston hosted TXLA (Texas Library Association Conference) in which I was able to attend.  Though it was going on all week, I was only able to be there for one day - but what an incredibly awesome one day it was!!!  My good friend Magan from Rather Be Reading drove down from Austin to go with me.  The night before we stayed up way too late talking everything possible about books & life.  It was too, too much fun.  I adore that girl!  Early the next morning, we made our way to the convention for books! books! and more books!

I always love interacting with fellow book bloggers at these events - and I saw quite a few that day!  I think the highlight of the convention for me, was getting the chance to meet some pretty fab authors - some I've admired from afar, others I've felt like I've already known!  All in all, the day was a success.  Thank you to the publishers who were so friendly and took the time to tell us about some of their fav books.  The day wouldn't be complete without a dinner at Chuy's with a few of my favorite people: Magan, Lena, & Jess - where the love of books & everything in between carried over.  Such an awesome day!!!

Top Left: Veronica Roth & Insurgent!!!! Top Right: John Green :-)

  20. Damn, girl! You got some BOOKS! LOL. (Where else in the world would that be considered a compliment? ;-))

I'm so glad that you had a wonderful time AND that you snagged some amazing books! Of course, Insurgent is at the top of my TBR List, but I am also really excited about For Darkness Shows the Stars. I may have to borrow that one from you ;-) Wish we could have hooked up at TXLA. I think I saw you and the girls from afar, but it was hard to catch up when I kept getting distracted ;-)

Hope you enjoy ALL THE BOOKS! Let's get together again soon :-) <3
