In My Mailbox: An Adult Contemp Addiction

In the last week or so I've spoiled myself with purchasing a few new e-books for my nook.  Thanks to my good friend Jess from Gone with the Words, she recommended the Lucky Harbor series to me.

I devoured the first book in a day, and then quickly moved on to the second book.  The third book was an automatic purchase as well... and I have a feeling the rest of the series will come quickly, too.  I highly recommend snagging this series if you're a fan of Adult Contemporary Romance.  These books have just the right amount of depth, humor and passion!

Simply Irresistible (Lucky Harbor, #1) by Jill Shalvis [add to goodreads]
The Sweetest Thing (Lucky Harbor, #2) by Jill Shalvis [add to goodreads]
Head Over Heels (Lucky Harbor, #3) by Jill Shalvis [add to goodreads]

In My Mailbox {79} + My Favorite Bookish Friends!

The books I got this week may not be many, but MAN are they some pretty kick-ass books!!!  A few of these have been at the top of my TBR pile for awhile, so I am extremely anxious to get started on them.

This weekend was also bittersweet because we had to say goodbye to our dearest Sarah.  She's making the move and leaving us all behind *sniff* But we know it's not goodbye forever.. we'll see her again SOON!!!  Of course we all had to get together for crazy fun times before she left ;)  Oh how I love these girls!!

The Raven Boys (Raven Cycle, #1) by Maggie Stiefvater [goodreads]
Unravel Me (Shatter Me, #2) by Tahereh Mafi [goodreads]

In My Mailbox {77}

Check out the books I bought this week & received for review.  So very thankful for my friends who recommend great reads.  I'm also grateful to publicists who reach out to me to review books they are promoting.

We're half way into summer & it's pretty much hot all over.  I just got back from a splendid vacation at the beach. Beginning Monday my summer school session begins (yuck!), which means reading will take back seat to studying.  Summer & studying should never belong in the same sentence!  But it's the sacrifices we have to make to get where we want, right?!  I will still be blogging, reading, chatting & everything else, so don't worry. I plan to enjoy my summer in between breaks, too.  Happy reading!!!

In My Mailbox {76}

Only two books showed up in my mailbox recently, but they are two books which I hold very close to my literary heart.  I had the opportunity to read Something Like Normal months ago & fell in love with Trish's debut.  I knew right away I had to own a finished copy.  Look at the pretty!!!  When it arrived I cradled it for a bit, then turned it over only to find Carla's blurb RIGHT THERE ON THE BACK. Oh my goodness.  Carla is the one who first introduced me to Trish Doller, so seeing her words on Trish's book - just completed the moment for me.

That other shiny goodness you see, yup that's Kirsty Eagar's newest contemporary - all the way from Australia!  I adore Aussie YA writers.  There's just something magical in their words which captures my attention.  After I devoured Raw Blue earlier this year, Eagar was put on my "instant read" list.  I can not wait to share with you all my feelings on this particular piece. Holy crap.

In My Mailbox {75}: Book Events, Oh My!

In the past 2 weeks I had the pleasure of attending some amazing book events that brought some amazing authors to town.  First up was the Fierce Reads Book Tour in which Anna Banks, Leigh Bardugo, Jennifer Bosworth, Emmy Laybourne, & Ann Aguirre came to discuss their books with us.  All 5 of these ladies had us laughing! So much fun.

The next bookish event involved a lovely lady who writes some kickass vampire books - RICHELLE MEAD! Oh yes.  It was an honor to finally meet her and listen to her talk about the list of books she's working on & planning to write. Holy wow! This woman is crazy-amazing.  Below are some books I already owned + more I bought for the authors to sign.

Of Poseidon by Anna Banks [goodreads]
Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo [goodreads]
Struck by Jennifer Bosworth [goodreads]

Vampire Academy (VA, #1) by Richelle Mead [goodreads]
Shadow Kiss (VA, #3) by Richelle Mead [goodreads]
The Golden Lily by (Bloodlines, #2) Richelle Mead [goodreads]
(3 book signing limit for this event, so I chose my favorites + her new book!)

In My Mailbox {74}

There's A LOT of book goodness that showed up in my mailbox this week (also on my nook thanks to netgalley!).  I had to miss another year of BEA, but my wonderful friends kept me in their thoughts & picked up a few treats for me.  I am truly blessed by the wonderful friends I have. Really. One year I will get my booty to NYC and experience BEA for myself, I promise.  In the meantime, I will live vicariously through my friends who attended & from the looks of it had an amazing experience.

Books from BEA/NYC (thank you Anna & Tara):

My Life Next Door by Huntley Fitzpatrick *signed* [goodreads]
Burn For Burn by Jenny Han & Siobhan Vivian [goodreads]
Cursed by Jennifer L. Armentrout [goodreads]
34 Pieces of You by Carmen Rodrigues [goodreads]

From netgalley for my nook:

Skylark by Meagan Spooner [goodreads]
Love and Other Perishable Items by Laura Buzo [goodreads]

In My Mailbox {73}: Sweet Summertime Reads

This week's collection of books are ones that I purchased for my nook to take along on vacation with me.  Even though there are a ton of hardback (or paperback) editions of books that I want to be reading, I've found that taking along my nook is much easier & efficient for travel purposes.  I may be picking up a book or two on vacation as well, so I want plenty of room in the suitcase for the way home :)

Rules of Negotiation by Inara Scott [goodreads]
How to Kill a Rock Star by Tiffanie DeBartolo [goodreads]
Tempting the Best Man by J. Lynn (Jennifer L. Armentrout) [goodreads]

Yes, these are all ADULT books. Lately I've been on an adult kick - especially the romantic steamy kind ;)

I only picked up one new book this week.  I've got lots to tide me over for a few weeks - especially with all those preorders that just came in!  This book though, I had been meaning to read for awhile now & thought it would be a great transition from all those heavy (yet so unbelievably good) contemps I've been reading lately.  Plus I got some other bookish goodies in the mail this week, too. Check it out!

Purchased from B&N for my nook:

Hourglass (Hourglass, #1) by Myra McEntire

The lovely Melissa Buell attended the Summer Lovin' Tour in California recently & snagged these wonderful goodies for me!! THANK YOU MELISSA!!!! <3

- Signed bookplates from: Jessi Kirby & Morgan Matson
