Waiting On: My Life Next Door

My Life Next Door by Huntley Fitzpatrick
To be published: June 2012
"One thing my mother never knew, and would disapprove of most of all, was that I watched the Garretts. All the time."

The Garretts are everything the Reeds are not. Loud, numerous, messy. And every day from her balcony perch, seventeen year old Samantha wishes she was one of them… until the day Jase Garrett climbs her terrace and changes everything.

Jase can sense that his beautiful neighbor is missing something in her sterile home, and as the two fall fiercely in love, his family makes her one of their own.

But when the bottom drops out of Sam's world, which perfect family will save her–and will her perfect love survive?

Set among the haves and have-nots of a coastal New England town, My LIFE NEXT DOOR captures the angst, the heartache, and the raw-nerve emotions of first time love—and biting loss. {taken from goodreads.com}
I love the idea of "the boy next door", it sets the tone for so many wonderful possibilities.  Doesn't every teenage girl dream of having a hot neighbor? I know I did at that age!  Shoot, I'll even settle for a hot 20-something year old neighbor now ;-)  When such words as angst, heartache, and raw-nerve emotions are used to describe a book; I am completely sold.  I'm definitely looking forward to this book come June.

"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

  1. I'm stilling waiting for the sexy tough guy or super cute adorkable guy to move in next door. I think that's why I like books by authors like Stephanie Perkins, for example. I'm excited for this one, too, despite the fact that I get the feeling I'm going to cry a lot...

  7. I like that this one isn't just about the romance, but also about family. The premise reminds me a bit of Little Women, with the gender roles reversed (and a modern setting of course, LOL.) Cute cover, too!
