In My Mailbox {44} - Chicago Edition!

As most of you know, I spent last weekend in Chicago visiting my dear friends Anna and Tara.  To say we had an epic weekend is an understatement.  I loved, loved, LOVED my visit so much.  The girls took me around the city showing me their favorite places of home.  Having the locals as your tour guide was a huge advantage.  I had the luxury of seeing the downtown life, as well as the local life in their neighborhoods.

Chicago is now one of my favorite cities I've been to.  I was amazed by how large, yet clean the city was.  And I am so envious of the public transportation system there.  Makes getting around town so much easier.  I was also told this is the perfect time of year to visit.  The weather was unbelievable all weekend!  This hot, humid, 100 degree girl took relief in the upper 80s with a cool breeze for a few days.  It was oh so nice!  The food was fantastic as well.  I got to try my first deep dish pizza and it was excellent.  So yummy!  Aside from the city and the sights, I really valued my time spent with these girls.  They have become two of my best blogging friends.  The laughs were endless and I can't wait to do it again!

Here's a few pics from the trip, as well as some goodies I brought home.  Thank you Anna and Tara for opening your doors to me and showing me your beautiful city!

My Chicago book souvenir, Divergent! Plus the girls signed it for me :-)

Borrowed the book from Anna & got those CUTE notecards from Tara + the bookmark!

This was waiting for me when I arrived - thank you Anna! I almost peed my pants!!!

  20. Looks like you had an awesome time. It definitely would be nice to get away from the 100 degree Texas heat. I don't think that one day of rain did much.
