Save the Date for: WHERE THE STARS STILL SHINE by Trish Doller

Save the Date is a fabulous feature created by the amazing Jamie from The Perpetual Page-Turner.  The idea behind this feature is to get the word out early for books we've read before the pub date, but our full review won't be posted until later, closer to its publication.

WHERE THE STARS STILL SHINE by Trish Doller has every thing I adore about contemporary YA.  The tone is so well written that I almost forgot I was reading about a teenage girl and found myself connecting beyond the words written on the page.  There is heart ache and there is hope.  There is love and there is forgiveness.  If you weren't already impressed with Doller's debut SOMETHING LIKE NORMAL, then STARS will most definitely leave a mark.  This is another novel worthy of pre-ordering.

About the Book From Goodreads: Stolen as a child from her large and loving family, and on the run with her mom for more than ten years, Callie has only the barest idea of what normal life might be like. She's never had a home, never gone to school, and has gotten most of her meals from laundromat vending machines. Her dreams are haunted by memories she’d like to forget completely. But when Callie’s mom is finally arrested for kidnapping her, and Callie’s real dad whisks her back to what would have been her life, in a small town in Florida, Callie must find a way to leave the past behind. She must learn to be part of a family. And she must believe that love--even with someone who seems an improbable choice--is more than just a possibility.

Trish Doller writes incredibly real teens, and this searing story of love, betrayal, and how not to lose your mind will resonate with readers who want their stories gritty and utterly true.

"Trish Doller writes strong, gutsy characters that you can't help caring for and Callie is no exception. Her journey is heartbreaking and powerful." —Melina Marchetta, Printz Award winning author of Jellicoe Road

Have you read One For the Murphys? It's not considered YA since 4th and up can read it, but it is my FAVE for the week. For the month. For the year. :)
