My Top Ten Words That Insantly Make Me Pick Up a Book

This week's Top 10 Tuesday prompt wants to know which words and/or topics instantly draw you to a book.  For me, it's pretty obvious what I look for in the books that I'm interested in.  I'll let my list speak for itself :)

Be sure to check out The Broke and the Bookish for more details on this awesome weekly feature.

1. KISSING - do I need to explain? Bring on the kissy times!
2. TENSION - I love a story with that slow burn tension.
3. MUSIC - they can sing, play it, listen to it, or all of the above!
4. CONFLICT - not everything is black or white, I'm a fan of the gray areas too.
5. SUMMER - the perfect setting for any Ginger book.
6. EMOTION - sad or happy, I look for books that make me feel.
7. ROAD TRIP - another setting that grabs my attention - so much adventure!
8. UNEXPECTED - the element of surprise is always a turn on with my books.
9. BLUE-EYED- what can I say? I have a thing for blue-eyed boys in the books I read.
10.CONTEMPORARY - above everything else, this is the word that grabs my attention!

  4. Contemporary also grabs my attention. I haven't been reading that genre for that long and I'm trying to catch up for lost time!

  7. Haha, my first thing was swoony and steamy, which I equate to kissing. I also mentioned slow-burn, so there's that too because YAY for a delicious slow-burn. I like all of the things in your list, but one thing that I put on my list is a doomed romance, and I don't know why I always go for those impossible romances - the ones that feel so good to hurt so bad? Even if they end up together in the end, it's the anguish of the torturous road to get there - I love it. Not sure why I went on that tangent, unless it's because I've had a LOT of coffee this morning!

  9. Oh this is good! I don't think I've read any contemporary books yet. What would you say is your absolute favorite?? If you can choose. I need a starting off point. :)

  10. I love blue-eyed boys. They're always so darn... wonderful. But even more than that, I happen to LOVE road trips! We should go on one someday.

  11. Music is a hard one. Integrated smoothly it can be awesome; shoved in arbitrarily and it's kind of lame. I'm a sucker for a boy who can play the piano, though. ;)

Here's my TTT for the week. Happy reading!

  14. Road trip and contemporary is my favorite genre in the world. I'd totally choose this over all the others if I had to! Great list especially blue-eyed boys. =D
