Waiting on Wednesday

"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

Where I Belong
by Gwendolyn Heasley (February 1, 2011)

Corrinne Corcoran’s upscale Manhattan life is perfectly on track—until her father announces he’s been laid off and she’s shipped off to Broken Spoke, Texas, to live with her grandparents. All alone in a big public school and forced to take a job shoveling manure, Corrinne is determined to get back to the glamorous life she’s supposed to be living. But as she grudgingly adjusts—making new friends and finding romance along the way—this city girl begins to realize that life without credit cards and shopping sprees may not be as bad as it seems....

In this sparkling debut that flawlessly balances romance and humor, readers will grow to love sharp and sassy Corrinne as she goes on her totally reluctant but completely irresistible journey of self-discovery.

This book intrigues me because I'm a "city girl" living in Texas =)  I've oftened fantasized about my cowboy too - but then I see the real life cowboys.. how dirty & icky they are, with missing teeth, and jeans tight in all the wrong places & I decide to stick with my fiction cowboys!  Young girl being forced in to a hard situation + the journey she takes us on + romance & humor = sign me up!  This YA Contemporary piece has my name written all over it.

  1. I want this one a LOT, too. I think I should have it coming from a tour relatively soon. Hope it is as good as it looks.

  2. I KNOW. I can't wait for this one either! And fictional cowboys > real life cowboys, for sure. I hope it's as good as we think it will be!

Here's what I'm waiting for this week :)

  3. I've seen this around, and I'm dying to read it, too! SO cute! Great pick, Ginger :)

  4. So, I think this is KIND OF a Miley Cyrus movie. But I also love it and would read it in a second. Flufftastic, which I love!

  5. I had this one last week on my WOW post. I think it looks great! I love the cover and the story sounds cute. Good pick!

  6. I just entered a contest for this! I haven't heard much about it, but the premise sounds interesting! Nice choice :)

  7. I think I'm much too city to want a cowboy... My tastes run to tech guys >.> The cover of this book is pretty sweet though.
