I'm not sure where I've been living - under a rock? on another planet? But I had never heard of the tv series Veronica Mars until I started blogging. The name kept popping up in quite a few conversations. Numerous amounts of people professing their love for this show. WHY HAD I NEVER SEEN IT??!! So, I needed to rectify this situation, stat! I called out to my blogger friends, requesting to borrow the DVDs if anyone had them - and to my surprise, I got numerous reply's! You people never seize to amaze me.
The past week I have spent camped out on my sofa, in front of the tv, watching the gloriousness that is of Veronica Mars. Its a teenage drama series from the early 2000s that is centered around Veronica Mars, daughter of a private investigator. It's her quirkiness and sharp humor that grabbed my attention first. This girl is beyond bad ass, y'all. She gets ridiculed by the popular kids at school for being "different" yet she dishes their crap right back to them. You go girl! She helps out with her dad on cases, finding clues, and solving mysteries. This chick is pretty dang smart.

Then, there's the boy. Logan Echolls. He's not on your radar from the first episode though. In fact, he's quite the a-hole to Veronica. He's not your typical drop dead gorgeous guy either. He's just your average, too-cool-for-school boy, who has a mouth on him that always lands him in trouble - yet a bank account that gets him out of it. As the episodes progress, Logan began to grow on me. It took some time before anything really happened between him and Veronica (and by taking some time - I mean the entire first season!). I was given a fair amount of warning about this dude. So I kept waiting.. and waiting.. and waiting some more for his glorious moment to appear. But let me just say, once it did happen.. oh my goodness!!!!! I may have squealed, out loud. The moments in this show are like YA book moments brought to life. You know all that fantastic stuff I gush about in my reviews? Imagine that. On the tv screen. It's good stuff people. Like waaaaaay good stuff.
Finally, there's the music. I was also warned about this. The soundtrack is epic! Each episode I hear a song I know, and love. Nothing makes a tv show better than when it's accompanied by an amazing song to capture just that right moment. I've heard everything from The Format, to Stereophonics, to Tegan and Sara, to Starsailor, to Sia. That's my iPod right there!
Right now (as I type this post) I am in the middle of season two. There are only three seasons to watch. For whatever reason, the show got canceled and I've also been warned - there is no true ending. The show just stops. I'm sure I'll be irritated with that when the time comes. But for now, I am enjoying the drama of Veronica Mars. If you've never watched this show (or never heard of it, like me) then I suggest you hit up your friends, check out your library's dvd rentals, scour the internet.. do whatever you have to do.. and watch this show! It's so freaking good. Then cry with me when it's over and there will be no more.
