The Vampire Diaries - get "sucked" back in!

Who is planning to watch the all new episode of The Vampire Diaries tonight?!

I know I am!!!

Just a re-cap on where things left off before the winter hiatus... With a full moon approaching, Caroline helps Tyler prepare for his inevitable transformation. Stefan and Katherine play mind games on each other, and Damon and Alaric become suspicious when a mysterious visitor named Jules shows up in Mystic Falls, looking for her missing friend, Mason. Elena is frustrated at Jeremy and her friends' excessive efforts to protect her. Bonnie and Luca team up to work on a spell, though both continue to keep secrets from each other. Finally, Elijah makes an unexpected appearance with an offer that could change everything. {taken from: cwtv}

Preview for tonight's episode, "The Descent"

Now the real question lies... which team are you on?! ;-)
Yes, it's pretty obvious where my alliances are! hehe

Vamped out?

How many books are out there in circulation about vampires?  I think since the explosion of Twilight, there seems to be some sort of vampire reference on every book shelf.  I will admit, the Twilight series is what got my love for YA books started -- so I have to give credit to Stephenie Meyer for that.  However, I haven't been able to read another book or series based solely on vampires that grabbed me the way that story did.  I absolutely adore the TV series Vampire Diaries, but have no interest in reading those books.  I've been told Vampire Academy is amazing, but again.. not much interest in reading those books either.  My love for paranormal romances have stemmed off of vampires and into werewolves, fallen angels, and dark faeries.  It's good to broaden your reading horizon, and not stay hooked to just one certain element in a book.  I do miss my vamps though!  Just something about them is irresistible to me.  It's the forbidden love that usually grabs me (always does) and the impeccable beauty (who's ever heard of an ugly vampire?).

While browsing Amazon, I came across this book:

 Crave  - by Melinda Metz & Laura J. Burns
Um hello! How hot is that dude on the cover?!  I'll admit -- his eyes & those lips, along with that title -- is what grabbed my attention first.  Who wouldn't crave that??  But as I read on, the story is described as boy/vampire meets sick girl/human, in which he has the cure for.  And thus their romance begins. (To read a more in depth synopsis click here).  The sense of intrigue doesn't stop there... the authors of this book are the same people who created the book series Roswell High, which then turned in to the popular TV show Roswell.  LOVED that show!  So yeah -- if they can create that, then I am definitely in for this book!  I reserved a copy at my local bookstore & will give a fully detailed report back when I am finished reading it.  This will be no Twilight, but it could be a new vamp series worth reading.

Do you have a vampire series to recommend?  How do you feel about all the hype surrounding this topic? Is it over used?  Sucked dry? (hehe).
