With 2010 coming to a close & a new year about to begin.. I was wondering from my book blogger friends, is there a New Years resolution you'd like to keep for 2011 when it comes to reading and/or book blogging?

My goal for reading in 2011 is going to be insane, but I'm up for the challenge! To read AT LEAST 150 books!  That is 100 more than what I read this year (however I did not really start trying til about mid way through the year).  

As for book blogging, the amount of followers doesn't matter to me - but I'd like to challenge myself by adding Author interviews, guest bloggers, & MORE book reviews!

If you were attending a Halloween costume party & had to dress up as your favorite YA character -- who would it be?

My Answer: It's a toss up between Katniss - Girl on Fire! from The Hunger Games trilogy and Daisy from The Great Gatsby (even though this isn't really YA, it's still one of my fav books!)

Do you prefer a male or female protagonist in YA lit? How do you feel about books that switch between the male & female's point of view?


My answer:  I typically like to read about female protagonists because I feel like I can relate better.  However I've recently read a few books where the main character is a male & it's just as intriguing.  I feel like when an author can write from a male's point of view & it's believable, then I tend to like it.  I LOVE when a book switches between main characters.  It's almost like you're getting 2 stories in one by seeing it from different perspectives.  Simone Elkeles does a superb job of this.

Who is your favorite YA couple? It could be anyone from the classics or something current.

My answer: Jace & Clary from The Mortal Instruments series (but Sam & Grace from the Shiver series is a close 2nd!)
