Survey Says! Holiday Edition 2010

Jess at Jess Hearts Books started this fun Holiday survey that I wanted to continue over here at GReads!  Please feel free to fill this out too & post a link back in the comments!

1.) Favorite holiday destination?
I've never been anywhere for Christmas other than home, but if I had the opportunity to travel I'd like to visit some place with SNOW! One of these days I'll have my white Christmas :-)

2.) Favorite ornament or decoration?
Two Christmases ago my sister gave me an ornament with my nephew Jude's footprint on it, his first Christmas! That ornament will always be special to me :-)

3.) What are you doing for the holidays?
I am not 100% certain of my plans right now.  On Christmas Eve I will probably spend it with my sisters & then on Christmas day I will be with them at my dad's house.  We open gifts in the morning & then usually share a meal together.  Having the time off from work & school will be a blessing!

4.) Are you a late or early Christmas shopper?
My shopping depends on my paydays :-)  I am never one of those people who shop months in advance.  In fact I waited til this weekend to complete my shopping lists!

5.) Who usually cooks holiday dinners?
Growing up it used to be my mother.  But now that she is no longer with us, we've made it a group effort.  Depending on who is hosting the dinner, they usually do a large portion of it.. but each one of us still contributes.

6.) Do you live where it snows?
No :-( and this makes me very sad.  People who get snow tell me I'm crazy & to be lucky that I don't have it.  Having an actual winter would be nice though!  Wearing short sleeves & flip flops on Christmas just doesn't seem right to me & never has.

7.) One thing that makes you happiest at christmas?
Being with my family.  A few years ago everyone was scattered across the world, literally.  Christmas was the one time of the year we'd all come together & spend time with one another.  Since my mom has passed, I've come to realize the importance of these moments with my family.  They come & go so fast.

8.) What do you want most for Christmas?
I think I stopped asking Santa for presents a few years ago lol.. but if I got to ask for ANYTHING it would be a plane ticket :-)  I have so many friends that live far away from me that I would love to go & visit.  The problem would be choosing the destination though.

9.) What's your favorite holiday drink?
I always see recipes for fun holiday drinks & I want to try them, but never do!  Right now Starbucks holiday drinks are probably my fav: Peppermint Mocha, Gingerbread Latte, & Pumpkin Spice.. MmmMmm!

10.) Favorite Christmas song?
"Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas..." - Coldplay's version! LOVE it.

11.) Favorite Christmas film?
Polar Express :-) I just bought it for my nephew for Christmas!  I also love The Holiday, Elf, and Love Actually.

12.) Favorite Christmas book?
I'm not sure I have one.. but I did just read Dash & Lily's Book of Dares and even though it isn't about Christmas, it's set during that time of year - and I absolutely LOVED it.  Read it if you haven't already.

13.) What is at the top of your list this Christmas?
Besides my sister's fudge?! lol  Money. I know that sounds boring, but really.. it's what I want! and need!

14.) What is most important to you about the holidays?
I've said it before.. Family :-) and I don't just mean the blood-related kind.  My family goes far & between!  Being able to give back at this time of year is also very important to me.  I know I can't do much (money wise) but I do recognize those who have helped me in the past & try to pay-it forward with someone else.
