My Top Ten Books To Read If You Like 90s Teen Movies

The other day I was talking to my sister about those iconic teen movies that came out in the late 90s/early 2000's.  Maybe it was because we were closer in age to the characters in the films, but for whatever the reason I remember loving those movies so much!  I'm about to sound insanely old & say... They just don't make movies like that anymore.

For this week's Top Ten, I thought I'd pick some YA books that made me think of those movies.  If you're not familiar with the films I'm referring to here's a few that come to mind: Clueless, Empire Records, Can't Hardly Wait, Varsity Blues, She's All That, Cruel Intentions, 10 Things I Hate About You, Drive Me Crazy, Save the Last Dance.

Be sure to check out The Broke and the Bookish for more details on this awesome weekly feature.

1. This Lullaby by Sarah Dessen [add to goodreads]
2. One Night That Changes Everything by Lauren Barnholdt [add to goodreads]
3. The DUFF by Kody Keplinger [add to goodreads]
4. Bright Before Sunrise by Tiffany Schmidt [add to goodreads]
5. Audrey, Wait! by Robin Benway [add to goodreads]

6. Ten Things We Did by Sarah Mlynowski [add to goodreads]
7. Major Crush by Jennifer Echols [add to goodreads]
8. From What I Remember... by Stacy Kramer & Valerie Thomas [add to goodreads]
9. The Reece Malcolm List by Amy Spalding [add to goodreads]
10. Fixing Delilah by Sarah Ockler [add to goodreads]

I've put together a playlist from those fabulous 90s Teen Movies, that you can check out below.  Have a listen & let me know which are your faves.

  1. I love this post. I've read a couple of these books (Bright Before Sunrise, This Lullaby, From What I Remember, and Audrey, Wait!) but you make me want to binge the rest RIGHT NOW. Or at least pick up The Reece Malcolm List.

    PS: Loving the playlist!
