DEEPER by Robin York: Serial Excerpt #1

I am honored to be featuring the first serial excerpt in Robin York's New Adult Contemporary, DEEPER.  This novel is written by one of my favorite adult authors that some of you may know as Ruthie Knox.  To say that I adore this woman's writing is just skimming the surface.  When I found out that she was writing New Adult Contemporary under the pen name Robin York, I was a bit intrigued.  After having the opportunity to read an early copy of this story, it's safe to conclude that York has definitely delivered, packing quite the powerful punch.

In preparation for the release date of DEEPER, a few blogs will be releasing excerpts from the story in serial format up until January 28th.  Today kicks off serial number one!  Be sure to visit Mundie Moms Guilty Pleasures on January 10th for the next serial excerpt.

DEEPER Synopsis:

In this New Adult debut by Robin York, a college student is attacked online and must restore her name—and stay clear of a guy who’s wrong for her, but feels so right.

When Caroline Piasecki’s ex-boyfriend posts their sex pictures on the Internet, it destroys her reputation as a nice college girl. Suddenly her once-promising future doesn’t look so bright. Caroline tries to make the pictures disappear, hoping time will bury her shame. Then a guy she barely knows rises to her defense and punches her ex to the ground.

West Leavitt is the last person Caroline needs in her life. Everyone knows he’s shady. Still, Caroline is drawn to his confidence and swagger—even after promising her dad she’ll keep her distance. On late, sleepless nights, Caroline starts wandering into the bakery where West works.

They hang out, they talk, they listen. Though Caroline and West tell each other they’re “just friends,” their feelings intensify until it becomes impossible to pretend. The more complicated her relationship with West gets, the harder Caroline has to struggle to discover what she wants for herself—and the easier it becomes to find the courage she needs to fight back against the people who would judge her.

When all seems lost, sometimes the only place to go is deeper.

Advance praise for DEEPER:

  5. I was so excited when I saw what you had to share today! I'm so thankful you introduced me to Ruthie Knox last year in Ride With Me and I can't wait to see what she has in store for her readers next. While I haven't had the opportunity to read the above excerpt yet as I've been at work, I think I'll save it and enjoy it with my cup of coffee tomorrow morning.

Thank you so much for sharing this, Ginger. What a special post!
