Autumn Mixes & a Thankful Note for GReads! Interrupted.

Sometimes I want to share things with my followers that aren't necessarily a book review, so I thought I'd create a sporadic feature on my blog to do just that.  GReads! Interrupted. is a personal reflection of me -- music I'm listening to, something I recently purchased & want to show off, or even just a random thought that I feel is worthy of sharing.  This is meant to be a fun break from the usual reviews + a chance for my followers to get to know me a bit more.  Hope you enjoy!

I'm a mood listener and it definitely goes with the seasons.  I created a playlist on spotify called Autumn Mix that's got a good mixture of mellow, soft tunes accompanied with those deep, raspy voices I love so much.  Have a listen and let me know what are your favorites.  And as always, if you like what you hear, support the singer/band by purchasing their music.

With the Holidays just around the corner, I'm always on the look out for festive holiday adult beverages.  This time of year always makes me crave the bubbly a bit more than the rest of the year.. not sure why that is.  Regardless I've been experimenting with some delicious sparkling wines.  I even came across a recipe for some fall sangria made with champagne, apples, and pears. Mmm!  What are some of your favorite holiday beverages?

This next bit of news is bittersweet.. though I'm jumping for joy because the end of the semester is almost here, I'm also a bit sad to be leaving behind a great group of students that I had the pleasure of student teaching.  I've definitely soaked up a ton of knowledge by shadowing my mentor teacher, and have been more than pleased with the experience over all.  I know I'll remember these students as my "first" group of kids and for that they'll always hold a special place in my heart.  I am looking forward to a few weeks off in December before the madness begins again in January.  I can see the finish line.. I'm almost there!

  1. Glühwein!!! It's a winter German beverage of spiced wine (or grapejuice, if you do schnapps)--a bottle of red, then spices like cinnamon or some bags of your favorite tea, and set it to simmer on the stove for a while. I don't have an exact recipe, it's one of those "go with the flow" drinks ;)

  2. I'm really enjoying Apple Cider Reds at the moment. They're delicious! I love music, of all kinds... except well Country. I've tried but just can't seem to make myself like it. I will definitely be listening to your playlist, I myself am a mood listener. My new song obsession as of late is Team by Lorde. Thanks so much for sharing! I hope you have a wonderful weekend.

  3. Great post Ginger. Nice to see someone else celebrating music. Still miss your Tune in Tuesday feature. I still do it sometimes but it was great when you were hosting.
